South Bend Cubs win 2-0 behind Tyler Ihrig’s impressive 7 scoreless innings

SOUTH BEND – Tyler Ihrig allowed five hits, three walks and struck out three during his seven inning start to lead the South Bend Cubs to a 2-0 win over the Captains.

Right fielder Jeffrey Baez drove in designated hitter Kevin Encarnacion to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead in the 5th inning. Then in the 6th came the Big One…a monster home run hit by left fielder Charcer Burks over the left field wall. Hoffner closed out the ninth inning to shut the door on the Lake County Captains.
