Rothenberg & Gonzales Moves Indiana from “Favored” to “Lean” Republican in Upcoming Governor’s Race
Vulnerability continues for Governor Pence as Hoosiers know the sluggish economy isn’t improving their overall well-being
INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Mike Pence’s reelection vulnerability continues today as The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report, a non-partisan analysis of politics and elections, moved Indiana governor’s race up one spot from “favored” to “lean” Republican. This analysis, along with GOVERNING Magazine’s analysis earlier this month, highlights how Hoosiers continue to see through Gov. Mike Pence’s ideological agenda and wish to elect a governor who will help solve their problems of today and improve the overall well-being of Indiana.
“Governor Mike Pence can tout his sluggish economy all he wants, but it does not overshadow the fact that everyday Hoosiers are tired of Gov. Pence portraying the economy as ‘strong’ and having ‘momentum’ when they clearly aren’t seeing this economic strength improve their overall well-being,” said Drew Anderson, communications director for the Indiana Democratic Party. “Hoosiers want a governor who will fight to solve today’s problems for the hardworking family instead of putting the state’s coveted “Hoosier Hospitality” and “Crossroads of America” reputations in jeopardy. From providing ‘maybes’ to fix our crumbling infrastructure to giving Indiana a $250 million economic panic, today’s analysis shows that Hoosiers know they can do better than Mike Pence and his out of touch ideology.”
