Colts Trade for LB- Sio Moore
The Indianapolis Colts today traded a late-round 2016 NFL Draft pick to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for linebacker Sio Moore.
Moore, 6-1, 240 pounds, was originally drafted by the Raiders in the third round (66th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. In two seasons with Oakland, Moore played in 26 games (22 starts) and registered 140 tackles (105 solo), 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defensed. In 2014, he started all 11 games he played in and finished with 90 tackles (67 solo), 3.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defensed. As a rookie in 2013, Moore started 11-of-15 games and tallied 50 tackles (38 solo), 4.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
Collegiately, Mooore started 31 games over his collegiate career at Connecticut and recorded 274 tackles, 44.0 tackles for loss, 16.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. As a senior in 2012, he was named First Team All-Big East after playing in all 12 games (10 starts) at outside linebacker for the Huskies. He led the team with 15.5 tackles for loss and finished second on the team with 8.0 sacks while adding 72 tackles. In 2011, he started all 12 games for the first time of his career and ranked third on the team with 86 tackles while leading the team with 16.0 tackles for loss and ranking second with 6.5 sacks. Moore started nine games in 2010 and finished second on the team in tackles (110) and tackles for loss (11.5). He also contributed 1.5 sacks. He was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week, Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America/Bronco Nagurski Award National Defensive Player of the Week after a 17-tackle performance against West Virginia. Moore also earned Big East Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording one interception against Buffalo. Moore played in four games in 2009 and tallied six tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss after redshirting as a true freshman in 2008.
