Chairman John Zody Enthusiastically Supports New Infrastructure Plan by Indiana House Democrats
INDIANAPOLIS – John Zody, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party, released the following statement in support of the Indiana House Democrats’ announcement to comprehensively address Indiana’s D+ rated infrastructure system.
“With Indiana’s roads and bridges crumbling before their eyes, Hoosiers are demanding a long-term, commonsense solution that would solve one of today’s problems facing our state: Indiana’s D+ rated infrastructure system. Today’s announcement by Leader Scott Pelath and Indiana House Democrats does just that. This commonsense plan allows all revenues from the sales tax on gasoline to be put toward our roads, erases any additional burdens to taxpayers, and does more than the bare minimum, late-to-the-game strategy offered by Governor Mike Pence. Leader Pelath and House Democrats now join John Gregg – who foresaw this issue and released his own plan during the 2012 campaign – in the fight to restore Indiana’s ‘Crossroads of America’ reputation.”
