Valero Alamo Bowl Recap: TCU 47 Oregon 41 (3)OT/F
TCU strikes back after being down as much as 31 points at halftime to pull out one of the greatest comebacks in bowl game history…
SAN ANTONIO, TX – “At halftime, nobody had any doubt that we could come and take it to three overtimes and win” said replacement QB Bram Kohlhausen after the win in San Antonio Saturday night. Kohlhausen was assigned the starting position after number one quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested and charged with assaulting a public servant, resisting arrest and public intoxication Thursday night. Boykin, who has been a standout quarterback for TCU this season, was sent home Friday morning by the team. This left TCU without one of their main weapons, they turned to Kohlhausen just 48 hours before game time.
Oregon dominated for the majority of the first half, scoring 31 points and leading at halftime. The more impressive part of the first half was Oregon’s defense, forcing 5 punts and a turnover on downs as they marched into the locker rooms at half.
TCU came storming out as head coach Gary Patterson came out of the locker room sporting a completely new look, changing from the black attire to the dark purple. This was just one of the many
changes that happened in the 2nd half where TCU went on a tear, outscoring Oregon with 31 points of their own to send it to overtime. One critical play left Oregon without their starting Center, Matt Hegarty, which served as a turning point for the Ducks offense.
It took 3 overtimes to complete this game, a game in which TCU fought back from a seemingly insurmountable lead. This has been one of the greatest bowl game finishes seen in reason years, and while most of the bowl games have been absolute blow outs The Alamo Bowl has served as the best game yet.

Down 31, TCU’s chance to win the game at that time was 0.9%, according to @ESPNStatsInfo. That’s why we finish the games.
