Congressional Candidate Dan Canon praises introduction of “Medicare for all” bill

New Albany, Indiana— Upon announcement of Sen. Sanders’ “Medicare for all” bill today, congressional candidate Dan Canon (IN-09) reiterated his support for universal healthcare.

“No American should go bankrupt or die because of medical costs,” Canon said. “Healthcare cannot be treated as a luxury good for a privileged few. More elected officials are finally starting to realize that our current system is unsustainable, and that we need to start making big changes for the sake of our children and grandchildren. If elected, I would co-sponsor any legislation which ensures that Americans receive healthcare as a basic human right, regardless of income. Senator Sanders’ bill would do just that.”
