Pacers Recap: Washington Wizards 118 Indiana Pacers 104 F

The woes continue in Indianapolis as the Pacers drop their 2nd game in a row, losing 118-104 to the Wizards…

Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS|IN – In the first quarter, the Indiana Pacers turned the ball over 7 times, in one stretch 3 possessions in a row and it seem to start with the lack of production coming from down low. The Pacers offense was heavily leaning on All-Star Paul George, PG George Hill, and recent addition in Monta Ellis.

Paul George struggled tonight against a below .500 Wizards team, only going  6-19 from the field, with 21 points. The Pacers cannot heavily rely on George to carry the load when the Pacers have struggled with pace of play all game loPacers buzzerng.

After the game, Wizards PG John Wall commented on Paul George’s off night saying “Credit our defense we played well enough to shut down one of the top scorers in the league, but some nights shots are just not going to fall down”.

The roughest stretch for the Pacers included being out rebounded on the glass 54 to 35 in which their leading rebounder came in the likes of PG George Hill. The continued struggle for the Pacers to find some help down low is a cause for concern. Rookie PF Myles Turner had some bright spots early when he converted back to back buckets. He finished the game with 10 points. If the Pacers can some how continue to give Turner the minutes after coming off a 7 week injury, he could be an X-Factor heading into the second half of the season.

The real story of tonight comes from the Washington Wizards where PG John Wall put up 28 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. He was accompanied by SG Bradley Beal who was on fire late in the game knocking down 4 out of the 7 three pointers he attempted.

While the Pacers sit currently in the 6th spot in the Eastern Conference, without help down low and the ability to take some pressure off of Paul George, the team is going to continue to struggle.

The Pacers head on the road Sunday to face the Denver Nuggets in which they look to bounce back from a two game skid.
