COLTS QB-JACOBY BRISSETT NAMED AFC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Indianapolis – The NFL today announced that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 7. This marks the first time that Brissett has earned the award in his career.

In the Colts’ 30-23 win over the Houston Texans, Brissett completed 26-of-39 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns for a 126.7 passer rating. He established new single-game career highs in passing yards, passing touchdowns and passer rating.

In 2019, Brissett has started all six games for the Colts and has completed 134-of-206 passes for 1,388 yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions for a 101.0 passer rating. He has also registered 29 carries for 72 yards and one touchdown. Brissett ranks fourth in the NFL in passing touchdowns and 10th in passer rating. He has thrown two-or-more touchdown passes in five games this season, which is tied for the most in the NFL.

Brissett is the second Colts player to earn AFC Player of the Week honors this season. Defensive end Justin Houston was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 5.
