Notre Dame’s Miles Boykin Selected By Baltimore Ravens In Third Round

NASHVILLE — Former University of Notre Dame wide receiver Miles Boykin was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens with the 93rd overall pick and 30th selection in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday evening. He became the 21st former Irish player to be drafted in the top three rounds of the NFL Draft since 2012.

Boykin is the 10th wideout in school history to be taken in the top three rounds of the NFL Draft and third under head coach Brian Kelly. In addition to Boykin, nine other Irish wide receivers have been chosen in the top three rounds, including Will Fuller (21st overall by the Houston Texans in 2016), Michael Floyd (13th overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 2012), Golden Tate (60th overall by the Seattle Seahawks in 2010), Maurice Stovall (90th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Derrick Mayes (56th overall by the Green Bay Packers in 1996), Lake Dawson (92nd overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1994), Tim Brown (sixth overall by the Los Angeles Raiders in 1988), Jim Seymour (10th overall by the Los Angeles Rams in 1969) and Jack Snow (eighth overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 1965).

Boykin, the 23rd wideout drafted in school history, becomes the seventh Notre Dame player ever drafted by the Baltimore Ravens and second in the third round. He also becomes the first Irish player drafted by the Ravens since Ronnie Stanley in the first round of the 2016 draft.

Boykin started 14 times in his 37-game, three-year playing career. In 2018, he started all 13 games at wideout and earned Notre Dame’s Offensive Player of the Year honors. He totaled 59 catches for 872 yards and eight touchdowns — all team highs. Boykin had a stretch of six straight games with at least one touchdown reception, making him the first Irish receiver to accomplish that feat since Will Fuller in 2015.

Boykin broke onto the scene in the 2018 Citrus Bowl. He recorded the first 100-yard receiving game of his career in the 21-17 come-from-behind victory over No. 17 LSU. Boykin caught three passes for 102 yards, including a 55-yard TD with 1:28 remaining to help Notre Dame secure its first victory in a New Year’s Day bowl since the 1994 Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M.
